GCABJ Scholarship Presentation
The Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists Inc. held the First Annual Scholarship Awards Presentation at the Springhill/Moorer Library on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 12:00 noon.
In our first year of existence, Gulf Coast Association Black Journalists Inc. (GCABJ) worked hard to raise enough money to award two $500.00 scholarships to students. The money was raised through an Inauguration Ball and a Mardi Gras Ball.
The scholarship recipients were:
Jessica Payne-Ms. Payne is a May 2009 Graduate of LeFlore High School. Shaw will attend Springhill College in the fall.
Joan Ramos- Ms. Ramos will be a senior at the University of South Alabama this fall.
