From The President

Thanks for visiting the Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists Inc. website. GCABJ is an affiliate chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, a non-profit organization focused on promoting diversity and establishing strong ties among African-Americans working in the media. In addition, GCABJ seeks to expand and balance the media's coverage of the African-American community and experience.

In our first year of existence, GCABJ members have worked hard to raise enough money to give out two scholarships. The organization will continue to offer annual scholarships to local print and broadcast students. We were able to raise the money through an Inauguration Ball and a Mardi Gras Ball.

We have had a successful first year, but the race is far from over. It's only the beginning! Help us reach our full potential. Our chapter is open to all broadcast, print, internet journalists and other media related professionals. Join GCABJ today and make a difference.
