Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists, Inc.

1st annual Black Business Expo

The Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists, Inc.'s 1st annual Black Business Expo will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Bishop State Community College's Central campus from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

This is a fundraiser to help support journalism and communications students as well as a way to bring the African American community together. CABJ has teamed up with the Minority Business Enterprise Center of the Chamber of Commerce to showcase black owned businesses in our area.

The Black Business Expo will precede Michael Baisden's mentoring tour town hall meeting. This is the perfect opportunity for black owned businesses to get exposure to a diverse and new clientele; as well as show many young people and adults in our community who will be attending the town hall meeting, that you can acquire success through hard work, perseverance, dedication and mentoring.

GCABJ is a professional organization with 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status that will strive to unite Black journalists and other media related professionals along the Gulf Coast who are dedicated to enlightening the community, achieving excellence and bringing diversity to news coverage as well as equality in the industry. In addition, special efforts are made to encourage Black students who are interested in pursuing careers in the media.

Your support will assist in getting the word out that Black businesses are alive and thriving here on the Gulf Coast and can cater to any of your daily needs!

Should you have questions regarding sponsorship or a booth, feel free to contact the Minority Business Enterprise Center at (251)433-2250. You can also find out more about GCABJ, our mission and our goals on the web at www.gcabj.org.

Sincerely,

Kym Thurman
