President - Kym Thurman
Kym Thurman serves as the current president of the Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists. Kym has more than 17 years experience as a broadcast journalist. She is the Evening Anchor for Mobile Alabama's WPMI NBC15 News at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00pm. Kym came to the Gulf Coast in April 2007 from Huntsville, Alabama where she was an Anchor and Medical Reporter at WHNT for 11 years. She has also worked in Anniston, Alabama.
Kym is a second generation graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Black Journalists. She has served on various boards including the United Cerebal Palsy of Madison County, S.C.A.N. (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect), and church boards. Kym was also one of the founding members and served as President of the North Alabama Association of Black Journalists.
